In our Cattlemen’s Capitol Concerns, reporter Jim Whitt visits with Dr. Stephen Sundlof, who heads the Center for Veterinary Medicine at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Dr. Sundlof explains FDA’s extensive efforts to ensure the safety of cloned livestock, before it approves any products from cloned animals in the food supply. FDA is currently reviewing comments on that issue. 

 

At the Cattle Learning Center, reporter Todd McCartney is joined by Dr. Kenton Morgan of Fort Dodge Animal Health. Dr. Morgan explains how preventive measures taken now can help cattlemen maintain strong herd health throughout the summer months.
