Watch Cattlemen to Cattlemen Week 19: Original Air Date June 12, 2007:

As we head into summer, house flies can be more than just a nuisance on your farm or ranch. They can also spread disease and create unsanitary conditions in and around your home. Dr. Bruce Steward of Bayer Animal Health joins reporter Todd McCartney to discuss this problem. As Dr. Steward explains, it takes an integrated approach to achieve effective control of house flies. For more information, visit Bayer Animal Health.

Other good sources for fly and pest control information include:

Todd McCartney is also joined by nutrition experts from Purina Mills at the Longview Animal Nutrition Center. They explain how a strong mineral supplement program is critical to achieving proper cattle nutrition and herd health.

NCBA President John Queen of North Carolina joins Susie Ross in the studio to talk about his experience as a NCBA officer, and his recent visit to Capitol Hill to testify on the 2007 Farm Bill.

And Cattlemen to Cattlemen also takes you to the mountain country of western North Carolina to visit John Queen Farms – which includes a backgrounding operation and a video auction business.  You’ll see that in addition to his duties as NCBA president, John Queen is busy carrying on a long family tradition as a hands-on cattle producer.
